Frida Khalo likes snacks, too.

The unfortunate part of this endeavor is that many of you do not know me, personally; however, the incredibly fortunate part of this endeavor is that many of you do not know me, personally. I am absolutely curious about anything my mind sees, and I feed this curiosity as much as possible. As I've stated before, eating is an intense part of my life and my curiosity about foods leads me on various tangents that we just don't have enough time to discuss.

Today, I thought I'd share about some easy snacks that I like to have handy in case my stomach rumbles, I have to take a late lunch, I'm next to someone who's hypoglycemic, or I'm not talking. My diet mostly consists of fruits, greens, dairy, nuts, fish, chicken, and lamb. I rarely enjoy eating red meat Because I enjoy eating anything at ANY time, I'm often quite excited to eat my leftover dinner portions for breakfast the following morning. (Spaghetti, lamb and rice, fish tacos, or some good ol' chili and rice are always better the second day!)

To hold me over until the next respectable meal, I enjoy a few of these quick and savory combinations:

  • Medium orange and trail mix
  • Greek yogurt w/ seasonal berries
  • Granola bar and apple
  • A cookie (of any type) and some hot tea
  • Raisin toast w/ cheese

You'll see that my dear friend, Frida Kahlo, joined me in today's display of the afternoon snack. I'll try to bring other guest artists to present other snacks throughout the week. Let me hear from you. What are your favorite easy snacks?

Have a delicious day!
