Whew, I made it home. Felt like I was starving but after a piece of cheese and some milk all is well again....I guess I was not that hungry.
Now I am going to finish making the stew I started last night and hopefully eat a good dinner.
I do not think I will skip lunch again...it made me far to cranky. I probably should do better about a smaller snack during the day as well. I think that will help keep my blood sugar at a more stable level throughout the day.
I am definitely gaining an appreciation for the segment of the population that does live on $20 worth of groceries per week. I found myself reading labels at the grocery store more closely than I have in a long time and it was informative. We make it easy to eat unhealthily, the prepackaged and sugared foods. The truly healthy foods are priced at a premium.
Let us hope this stew turns out well!
